A more pleasant temperature greeted riders for the Individual Qualifier competition and our girls were once again ready to take to the beautiful arena overlooking the stunning Chateau de Versailles.
A few less nerves came into play today and our team had some great rounds.
Hilary and Milky were once again the first of the three Australian combinations hit the course at 18 on the start list and by this time there had already been seven clears.
Our girls got off to a great start however, a rail at the first of the double at five, then another rail at the first of the treble at Fence 10 saw them finish with a total of 8 penalties in a really good time. This slotted them into 13th place on the current standings and the long wait started for them to see if that performance was good enough to make the top 30.
Thaisa and Edwina also finished with 8 penalties and at the end of the day sadly none of our Australians made it through to the Individual Final, with Hilary and Milky Way finishing 44th, Thaisa Erwin and Hialita B – 51st and Edwina Tops-Alexander and Fellow Castlefield – 47th.
It was however an experience of a lIfetime and we are very grateful to have had this amazing opportunity and thank everyone who has helped us along the way including all our team in Paris and at home, Hilary’s wonderful Groom Anna Altenburg and to everyone who has been supporting and cheering us on along the way.
We were extremely happy with Milky and to come out with a healthy and happy horse ready for more to come is icing on the cake.
