After the Larapinta World Cup Show, at which we were so well represented, it has come to light how well our Oaks horses are doing across a couple of domestic based Championships.
Firstly, in the FEI World Cup Australian Qualifying Series, there have been three legs conducted with a further six to go across the rest of 2024. The current leader in this series is Clem Smith, who has got there aboard gelding Oaks Conjuror. They have picked up points in every leg so far with a pair of fourth placings at Shepparton and Larapinta greatly assisting their cause.
Equal second in the title race, just a single point behind is Sam Overton, who has been aboard Conjuror’s half-brother Oaks Cassanova. While Sam didn’t pick up any points in Larapinta, they are currently riding high on the back of a third place at Shepparton and a win in the Werribee leg.
While Clem and Sam have plenty of experience, it is also the not so experienced who are benefitting from partnering with Oaks progeny. The Stal Tops Australian Young Rider Series is half-way through its four Leg season and currently Victorian rider Sienna Holdsworth-Rose and mare Oaks Kestrel lead the way. They are three points clear of the second placed combinations having achieved their lead after a pair of fourths in each of the Legs conducted to date.
We are proud of the success our horses are having and look forward to watching how they progress in each of these Series across the rest of the year.
